Yikes, that's a lot of side effects. Is that for lithium? When I was on lithium, I would have some of the more troublesome ones, too, like "visual disturbances". Eventually, they got so bad, I switched to valproic acid.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth looking for the chances of side effects, though. Drug companies will throw any and all side effects that there's even a rumor a drug might cause on the bottle, so that they won't get sued if they actually happen. Unfortunately, the don't usually put the chances, so the warning labels read like horror novels.
They're not for Lithium- when I was first being diagnosed, that "L" word came up and I reacted as though he'd said electro-convulsive therapy, so we didn't pursue that option.
ReplyDeleteAn irrational reaction, but not dissimilar to my reaction to the drug ads on TV. After listening to the list of side effects, the last thing I want to experiment with some of that.
You're right about about the why, and the odds. it's one of reasons I like the "crazy Meds" site... very candid about possibilities slim and large...
